Are you an Ostrich?

How is your vision? Are your eyes shut? Are you seeing all God’s wants you too? Are you ears closed to the things of God? Are you happy with where you are?

Is it because you’re secure in your eternal destination that you chose to not make waves, ignore the lost around you. ? Maybe you think you don’t have time for others? We do live in a fast paced world.

I think these are great questions for us all to ask ourselves from time to time. Maybe even daily. It’s easy to get caught up in our lives, our routines and forget to start each day asking God “what do you have for me to do today?

Yes we all have responsibility’s we can’t ignore, that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about including God in our plans for the day.

God told Isaiah the world will become so corrupt and intolerant and busy that many wouldn’t be able to hear anymore or see anymore. Sadly this applies to our churches and Christians as well.

Is Jesus leading in your life? Is he in your church or is He outside looking in? Have we become so busy going through your routines that you forgot that your Savior is along with you? We do have His power, but are we using it?

Do we silence his voice except for Sunday morning when we listen to our pastor? Do we separate ourselves from His presence with sin in our lives?

Have we become a dull people?

Are we showing up on Sunday morning and visiting with our friends and then going out and living our lives as we choose? Leaving Him in the pew?

To ignore what God has put before us and done for us is a slap in His face.

If you get a new car I bet you can’t wait to go share it with your friends and family. You most likely take a picture of it and post it to Facebook or Instagram Right?

When was the last time you posted something for Jesus? When was the last time you spoke of Him outside of the Church?

If we are rejecting or refusing to share the good news of the Gospel We can’t expect a close relationship with the Father.

Does this mean we give up? NO way.

It means we are human. As Paul said:

Romans 3:23-24- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace though the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

What we need is to repent, turn our def. ears and eyes to our Lord Jesus Christ daily.

We need to be prayer warriors and witnesses more now than ever. We need a revival as never seen before.

We need to wake up! Me too. Remember we are blessed, we are saved by the blood of our Lord and Savior.

We are called to share, to delight in Him and be His ambassadors. Time is drawing neigh. We need to push fear and lazy out the windows of our lives.

Joshua had one of the hardest jobs in the Old Testament. To follow after Moses leading the people into the Promised Land.

You know he had to be scared and felt unworthy. The Lord reassured him with reminding him of who was really in charge and He was with him. He wouldn’t leave him or forsake him.

Joshua 1:5-No man shall be able to stand against you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.

So what do we have to be afraid of? God is the same yesterday, today and will be tomorrow. His words for Joshua are for us to claim as well.

My goal is to ask God to never let me miss an opportunity He has placed before me. Asking Him to open my eyes and my ears to hear the lost and see them. To not be afraid to share with my brothers and sisters.

The time is drawing near. Faster than we’ve ever experienced. I feel a rock in the foundation of our time has been removed and the foundation is about to start crumbling into eternal judgement right before our very eyes. This is an exciting time to be on the winning side!

God wishes that all will come to Him and no one suffer eternal damnation.

From John the Baptist on through the apostles and even us. YES US. God has chosen His people (all believers) to step out in faith and share His love and the good news with others.

It’s our choice how we live our lives. Do you chose the peace that passes all understanding or are you happy with dull eyes and ears?

Are you happy to live as an ostrich with your head in the sand? Or are you willing to stand up and be counted for Him?

How do we do this? How do we keep fear at bay? By studying the word and spending time in prayer. Meditating, listening. Don’t worry about being perfect, none of us are.

We as Christians must not take for granted that someone else is doing the job set before us.

It’s time we take it upon ourselves to not miss an opportunity to witness for Him. To speak for Him. To share in our joy, our peace and our eternal home.

What is He going to find you doing when He comes back?

Titus 2- Tells us what we should be doing.

Titus 2:1-3- You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

And why do we live this way?

Titus 2:11-14- For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people what are his very own, eager to do what is good.

Praise be to God our Father and author of our Faith. Amen.
